‘The Window’ is a music studio, lounge, and jam room designed for the music composer Siddharth Kasyap. The client, in his early 40s, a full-time industrialist, has recently resumed the composition and production of music in pursuit of his passion. Inspired by Matisse’s ‘Open Window’, the lounge was designed as his window into a whole new world. The colours and textures are inspired by the painting and reflect onto the walls, floor, and furniture throughout the space.

It is a three-storey lounge located amid the cacophony of Mumbai’s most commercial neighbourhood that is home to some of the biggest production houses in the country. The lounge contains various scales of spaces to host people from within and outside the industry. It has a small recording studio on the upper level and a jam room in the basement, which can be occupied temporarily by musicians & independent artists of the industry for music making.
